Richard Gere and Juliette Binoche will star in Bee Season, the Fox Searchlight family drama that is being directed by The Deep End team of Scott McGehee and David Siegel.
Binoche will play a mom in an emotional spiral whose family is headed for dysfunction. Her professor husband (Gere) hides from marriage by throwing himself into his 11-year-old daughter's attempt to become the national spelling bee champ. Their other son is on the verge of running off with a cult member.
Naomi Foner wrote the drama for which we recently posted a casting call for a 10- to 11-year-old girl.
