Jon Voight has taken the remaining key role of Senator Thomas Jordan in The Manchurian Candidate, the Jonathan Demme-directed remake of John Frankenheimer's classic thriller for Paramount. Voight joins Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep and Live Schreiber.
He'll play an elder statesman central to a drama surrounding two hero soldiers who return from war unable to remember what truly happened to them. A brainwashing conspiracy unfolds.
Washington and Schreiber play the memory-challenged soldiers, with Streep playing Schreiber's mother.
